 Velvet Teddy Bear – Crochet Pattern

 Materials:

  • Ice Yarns Velvet Baby (Beige/Brown or desired color)
  • 4.5 mm crochet hook
  • Safety eyes (10–12 mm)
  • Black embroidery thread (for eyebrows, mouth)
  • Fiberfill stuffing
  • Yarn needle, stitch marker

 Abbreviations (US Terms):

  • MR: Magic Ring
  • sc: Single crochet
  • inc: Increase (2 sc in 1 stitch)
  • dec: Decrease (sc 2 together)
  • st: Stitch
  • sl st: Slip stitch
  • FO: Fasten off
  • BLO: Back loop only

 Head:

  1. MR, 6 sc
  2. inc x6 (12)
  3. sc, inc x6 (18)
  4. 2 sc, inc x6 (24)
  5. 3 sc, inc x6 (30)
  6. 4 sc, inc x6 (36)
    7–13. sc around (36)
  7. 4 sc, dec x6 (30)
  8. 3 sc, dec x6 (24)
  9. 2 sc, dec x6 (18)
  10. sc, dec x6 (12)
  11. dec x6 (6)
    FO and close. Stuff firmly.

 Body:

    Stuff lightly, FO. Sew to body bottom sides.

 Arms (Make 2):

    FO, stuff lightly, sew to sides of body.

 Ears (Make 2):

  1. MR, 6 sc

    4–5. sc around (18)
    Flatten, do not stuff. Sew to head sides.

 Nose & Facial Details:

  • Use dark brown yarn to embroider nose as an oval.
  • Embroider eyebrows above eyes with thin black thread.
  • Use 10 mm safety eyes placed between rounds 10–11 of the head, about 7–8 sts apart.

 Final Assembly:

  1. Attach safety eyes and embroider facial features before fully closing the head.
  2. Sew head to body.
  3. Attach arms and legs symmetrically.
  4. Sew on ears.
  5. Optional: blush cheeks with fabric-safe coloring or embroidery.
