Velvet Bunny Pattern (Crochet Amigurumi)

Materials:

  • Ice yarns Velvet Baby (Chenille Yarn – light blue and cream)
  • 4.5-5.0 mm crochet hook
  • Safety eyes (optional) or embroidery thread
  • Stuffing (polyester fiberfill)
  • Yarn needle
  • Stitch marker

Abbreviations:

  • MR = Magic Ring
  • sc = single crochet
  • inc = increase (2 sc in one stitch)
  • dec = decrease (single crochet two stitches together)
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • ch = chain
  • st = stitch

Head

(Use cream for face, blue for rest)

  1. MR, 6 sc into ring (6)
  2. inc around (12)
  3. (sc, inc) around (18)
  4. (2 sc, inc) around (24)
  5. (3 sc, inc) around (30)
  6. (4 sc, inc) around (36) 7–13. sc around (36)
  7. (4 sc, dec) around (30)
  8. (3 sc, dec) around (24)
  9. (2 sc, dec) around (18)
  10. (sc, dec) around (12)
  11. dec around (6)

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff firmly.

Body

(Use blue)

  1. MR, 6 sc into ring (6)
  2. inc around (12)
  3. (sc, inc) around (18)
  4. (2 sc, inc) around (24) 5–9. sc around (24)
  5. (2 sc, dec) around (18)
  6. sc around (18)
  7. (sc, dec) around (12)
  8. sc around (12)

Fasten off and stuff.

Arms (Make 2)

(Use cream for 5 rounds, then blue)

  1. MR, 6 sc into ring (6)
  2. inc around (12) 3–5. sc around (12) (Change to blue) 6–14. sc around (12)

Lightly stuff only the bottom part. Flatten and sew closed.

Legs (Make 2)

(Use cream for 5 rounds, then blue)

  1. MR, 6 sc into ring (6)
  2. inc around (12) 3–5. sc around (12) (Change to blue) 6–12. sc around (12)

Stuff and fasten off.

Ears (Make 2)

(Use blue)

  1. MR, 6 sc into ring (6)
  2. (sc, inc) around (9) 3–8. sc around (9)

Flatten, do not stuff. Sew onto head.

Tail (Optional)

(Use blue)

  1. MR, 6 sc into ring (6)
  2. inc around (12)
  3. sc around (12)
  4. (sc, dec) around (8)

Stuff lightly and sew onto back.

Assembly:

  • Sew the head to the body.
  • Attach arms and legs symmetrically.
  • Sew the ears on top of the head.
  • Embroider sleeping eyes and nose with dark brown thread.
